As shown in fig.2, a transistor has two P-N junctions namely BE (Base to Emitter) junction and CB (Collector to Base) junction.Number of P-N junctions and equivalent circuits: The transistor has two P-N junctions namely the collector base junction and base emitter junction.To be precise, the emitter is slightly more heavily doped than the collector and the collector area is slightly larger than the emitter area. Emitter and collector layers are much wider than the base and are heavily doped.
